Soil Health Workshop-Managing for Healthy Soils

James Hoorman, Reigonal Soil Health Specialist for the USDA, Natural Resources Conservation Service returns to the area to offer a second workshop. Stephanie McClain, Indiana’s Soil Health Specialist, USDA, NRCS will join Mr. Hoorman to present the topics for this workshop. Adam Shanks, AgNR, Purdue Extension will speak on a regulatory topic for those seeking PARP recertification.

Topics for this workshop will include:

Making No-Till Corn a Success; No-Till Drill and Planter Setup; Enhancing Earthworm Populations; Adapting Herbicides to No-Till and Cover Crops; Adapting to Extreme Weather Events; and will also include Farmer Panel discussion facilitated by the Soil Health Specialists.

The agenda will include PARP recertification.. A $10.00 fee will be assessed for those requesting PARP. CCA-CEU’s applied for and pending approval.

Event sponsored by the Clinton, Carroll, White County Soil and Water Conservation Districts, Purdue Extension, USDA, Natural Resources Conservation Service and the Conservation Cropping Systems Initiative.
