Give to the Soil Health Institute

We translate science into action to address real world problems.

Achieving Scale and Impact

Healthy soils are how we feed a growing population; achieve a stable climate and clean environment; sustain farms, rural communities, and landscapes; and provide pollinator and other wildlife habitat. The science is clear. We know how to do this. Your support will help achieve these goals.

The Case for Change

9.8Bn

By 2050, our agricultural systems will need to support 9.8 billion people, that’s 2 billion more than today.

40-60%

In the last century, many of our agricultural soils have lost 40-60% of the basic building block that makes them productive – organic carbon.

30%

Drought is expected to increase from impacting 1% of the world’s arable land to over 30% by the end of the century due to climate change.

We are at a critical juncture in human history where we must address these challenges by transforming agriculture, and soil health is the framework to do just that.

Yes. The Soil Health Institute is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization and donations are tax deductible.

We are all stakeholders in soil health. Your gift empowers those who steward this precious resource with the knowledge, tools, and networks they need to adopt soil health systems that are profitable and resilient. A gift to the Soil Health Institute helps to support them and unite all of us to increase carbon drawdown and reduce greenhouse gas emissions to mitigate climate change, enhance water quality, increase drought resilience, ensure a stable food supply, and improve pollinator and wildlife habitat. If you would like your gift to target a specific area within the Institute’s Portfolio of Work, please send an email to info@soilhelathinstitute.org with the Subject Line: Gift.

All gifts have an impact. We ask that you give at a level that is meaningful to you. In making the Soil Health Institute a philanthropic priority you are supporting a future where farmers and ranchers grow quality food, fiber, feed, and fuel using soil health systems that sustain farms and rural landscapes, promote a stable climate and environment, and improve human health and wellbeing. For additional financial information and a summary of the Institute’s mission, programs, and operations please see our GuideStar Profile.

The Soil Health Institute accepts a variety of gifts: bequests, memorial gifts, appreciated securities, stocks, life insurance, personal property, and personal or corporate gifts to support the SHI Mission. Please contact us at info@soilhealthinstitute.org to learn more.
